Benny Bonsu – Episode 3

Benny Bonsu is the first female Sports editor in the UK, working as Head of Women’s Sport at GiveMeSport, one of the world’s largest sports digital platforms. Benny’s also a renowned global sports broadcaster and producer who works for NBA, BBC World Service and Sky Sports. In addition to being the voice of China’s premiere sports brand – Lin Ning’s ­– working in collaboration with NBA legend Dwayne Wade. 

Benny Bonsu’s success has seen her become an award-winning Sports Broadcast journalist, who was nominated for “Sportswoman Of the Year” by the Batons Award 2018, a finalist for the prestigious Women Trust’s Award for “Best Media Individual of the Year 2017” and also won “Rising Star for Education and Academia Award for the “We Are The City” Awards 2017 for her work with Girls In Sport Foundation.

Benny is also a seasoned humanitarian who is recognised globally as an emerging leader with the courage to lead change on the African continent, UK and Asia using sport. Benny’s strong commitment to education and empowering women and girls through sport has seen her become a UN Women Ambassador to end violence against women; she also serves as a Board of Director for Basketball England and the Westminster Education Board in London looking after 250 schools across the UK.

In this third episode of In Her Corner, we’ll talk to Benny about how experiences in both her professional and personal life have shaped her approach to work and in particular building a compelling platform to showcase women’s sport.
