Victoire Cogevina – Episode 25
Victoire Cogevina Reynal, is the creator, CEO, and Co-founder of GLORIA, a social media platform created to enrich football fans and players’ online experience of the beautiful game. Currently, in an invitation-only beta phase, the company has a star-studded team of investors and tech experts to enable GLORIA to realise its ambition to become the world’s biggest online community.
Alongside leading an emerging sports tech start-up, Victoire is also a public speaker and dedicated advocate for gender equality in sports tech through her role as a board member of Women in Sports Tech (WIST). WIST is an organisation that provides mentoring and training to help young girls and women to pursue successful careers in sports tech. Victoire’s dedication to advancing women through sports and technology extends to her role as an official collaborator with UN Women who she’s working with to implement policies to give women more equitable opportunities to improve their lives through careers and participation in sport and technology.
Prior to founding GLORIA, Victoire worked as a football agent and CMO of the first-ever female-owned football agency in South America – SR All Stars, which specialises in representing leading Latin American players in the MLS. During her time at SR All Stars, Victoire became increasingly interested in the role that technology could play in promoting gender equality in football and raising the visibility for amateur and professional female football players.
In this episode of In Her Corner, we talk to Victoire about how having conviction in her dreams led to securing investment from one of the world’s most renowned tech investors, Alex Ohanian, the three career-defining lessons that led her to overcome sexism and corruption to become a leading football agent in South America and triumphing despite career setbacks.
